Trauma may be a significant factor in the lives of some addicts and alcoholics.
Some individuals begin abusing drugs or alcohol in an effort to cope with the emotions associated with a traumatic experience. Other’s chemical dependency may be well-established prior to their traumatic experience. In fact, their inappropriate use of drugs or alcohol could have played a large role in the occurrence of the trauma.
But alcoholics and addicts no longer need to be victims of the traumatic events in their lives; nor are they required to continue their downward spirals trying to control the feelings resulting from those traumas.
Now, they have a choice.
Unity Recovery Center provides integrated trauma therapy with our highly individualized substance abuse treatment program. Our multidisciplinary approach gives addicts and alcoholics a real opportunity for trauma resolution while also beginning the process of recovery from alcoholism and addiction.
