At Unity Recovery Center, we have learned that men entering treatment for drug addiction or alcoholism normally arrive with numerous unhealthy preconceived notions about themselves and their male counterparts, about what is expected from them, about what it means to be a man.
The Unity Rehab for Men Program helps men begin to reexamine and redefine what it means to be a man. Stereotypes are tossed aside. Our clients discover that while they may be tough — and anyone, male or female, who enters drug and alcohol rehab is indeed tough — they are also loving and gentle, fine qualities that have to be recognized and appreciated.
Our Men’s Program challenges clients to develop new views about themselves and their world. Old values and beliefs that may have contributed to their diseases are discarded. Men are taught that much of recovery involves enhancing their lives and the lives of others. They are encouraged to develop an awareness of their flaws and strengths.

Men and women face many different issues when during treatment for their alcohol or drug addiction. It’s important for male and female members of our recovering community to be comfortable in addressing all of their issues, sometimes with only members of their sex present. Single gender therapy provides this opportunity. At times, however, group therapy — with both men and women comprising the group — can be healthful. Clients relearn how to thoughtfully, soberly interact with members of the opposite sex, while projecting and respecting appropriate boundaries.
We also offer drug and alcohol treatment programs exclusively for women.
